HDAC4 inhibits MEF2C-TBX5 complex formation on MYH6-promoter target DNA and inhibits its transcriptional activity. (B) Electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA) showing the formation of TBX5-MEF2C complex on the MYH6-promoter target DNA (lane 4, black arrowhead). Increasing concentrations of HDAC4 reduced such complex formation (lanes 5–7).
