Partitioning of phenylalanine (F) and glutamic acid (E) into decanol with 10 mM PTAs. Only E was tested for partitioning at pH 3, as it has a third pKa for the carboxylate side chain at 4.2. Glycine (G) data is redundant with Fig. 1. The standard deviation all values was less than 3%.
