  1. NICU neonatal intensive care unit.
  2. Ventilatory support was defined as continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) or invasive ventilation.
  3. Composite severe neonatal morbidity was defined as one or more of the following: perinatal mortality, intraventricular hemorrhage grades 1–4, necrotizing enterocolitis or asphyxia.
  4. All the above neonatal outcomes were adjusted for gestational age at delivery, mode of delivery and SGA.
