Plot of the time dependence of the magnetization components for a 12 nm diameter octahedral nanoparticle for (a) 0%, (b) 10% and (c) 20% elongation at T = 300 K. The z-component data show a transition from a fully superparamagnetic regime for the isotropic particle to a partially blocked regime for a particle with 20% elongation. The rotational components (transitions in x,y) are superparamagnetic in all cases.
