From: Abrogation of type-I interferon signalling alters the microglial response to Aβ1–42

Aβ1–42 elicits a type-I IFN response in microglia that is ameliorated by removal of IFNAR1. Primary wild type and IFNAR1−/− microglia were treated with 10 μM monomeric Aβ1–42 treatment (24–72 hours). (a) Collected media was analysed via reporter cell assay to measure levels of bioactive type-I IFN. Cells were then analysed via QPCR to measure transcript levels of (b) IRF7, as well as levels of both (c) IFNα and (d) IFNβ.
