Expression of the B. bacteriovorus DHFR (Bd3231) in E. coli confers resistance against TMP. E. coli BW25113 expressing either Bd0323, Bd1356, Bd3231 or Ec DHFR were cultivated overnight. Two-fold dilutions of cells were spotted onto MHII 1.5% (w/v) agar plates supplemented with 0.01 mM IPTG and either 0 or 0.5 μg/mL TMP.
