Symbols below the POC/chl-a ratio of 100 indicate dominance of photosynthetic sources of POC, the group with POC/chl-a ratios above 100 indicate samples with dominance of detrital sources of organic carbon. Error bars represent 1σ -standard deviations as determined from triplicate analyses of selected samples.
