Functional profiling of the crab’s carapace microbiota using metagenomics: (a) Gene Ontology functional categories of metagenome sequences (%) that constituted the majority of the metagenomic data (45.3% classified reads) with (b) a breakdown of the subcategories (%) among the classified metabolic processes and (c) metabolic processes of the nitrogen cycle (5% of the “Nitrogen compound metabolic process” subcategory). Pathways consist of the sum of counts for related proteins. The analysis was limited to functional categories > 0.1%.
