From: Fungal attack on archaeological wooden artefacts in the Arctic—implications in a changing climate

Results of visual decay analysis of the 45 buried archaeological wood samples unearthed from the active layer at nine archaeological sites shown as: Percentage of macroscopic determination of surface decay and microscopic determination of the dominating decay types, the presence and absence of soft rot and brown rot, the degree of degradation, and the degree of compound middle lamella (CML) decay.
