Host cell viability by MTT assay. BeWo cells were treated for 24 h in twofold serial dilutions (ranging from 256 to 4 µg/mL) with oleoresins from (A) Copaifera reticulata, (B) Copaifera duckei, (C) Copaifera paupera and (D) Copaifera pubiflora. BeWo cells were treated with culture medium alone (control group) and DMSO 1.2% (vehicle of oleoresins in the concentration of 256 µg/mL). Cell viability was expressed in percentages (cell viability %), with the absorbance of cells incubated only with culture medium considered to be 100% viability. Data are expressed as means ± standard deviation from experiments performed in eight replicates. Significant differences detected by the Kruskal–Wallis test and Dunn’s multiple comparison post-test are labeled (statistically significant when P < 0.05).
