Respective strains were grouped together to clearly summarise the species-level discrimination across the data. The boxes represent the interquartile range: the line running across each box represents the 50th percentile (median), the top of the box represents the 75th percentile, and the bottom of the box represents the 25th percentile. The whiskers (error bars) represent either the smallest or largest value within 1.5 times the interquartile range above the 75th percentile or below the 25th percentile. The black dots above or below the boxes represent outliers that are greater than 1.5 times the interquartile range beyond either end of the box.
