Properties of the ROIs that changes across days. (A) Similarity (correlation) between the functional networks for each pair of days. The correlation value ranged from 0.429 to 0.780, suggesting that the functional connectivity of a single person varies on a daily basis. The color code represents the value of the correlation coefficient. MC refers to the meditation condition. There were 18 out of 58 days in the MC. (B) Time-dependent community architecture. The rows and columns correspond to the days and ROIs, respectively. While the majority of the ROIs were classified to the same community, the ROIs in fronto-parietal network were often categorized as part of the default mode network. The four communities were labeled the visual network (colored in purple), sensory-motor network (SMN; green), fronto-parietal network (FPN; blue), and default mode network (DMN; red). A white stripe describes a day in which a ROI belonged to more than one community and could not be assigned a community label.
