Full color image writing by stacking gratings. (a) A photograph of a Rainbow Lorikeet written on a DR1g film surface with 120 \(\times \) 80 pixels. The total size of the written area is 12 mm \(\times \) 8 mm, and the writing time was 9 h. The image was taken in direct sunlight, by capturing the first reflected diffraction order with a camera. Each pixel of the image contains three gratings for reflecting red, green, and blue light towards the camera. (b) Source image for patterning.
