The schematic representation of MAA capping of CdSe/ZnS QDs and conjugation of Cox with CdSe/ZnS QDs via EDC/NHS in various steps a-g as discussed in the text. The steps involved are (a) formation of carboxylate bond via thioglycolic acid; (b) addition of EDC for activation; (c) unstable reactive ester formed; (d) stabilizer added; (e) semi-stable amine reactive NHS ester; (f) cholestrol oxidase addition; and (g) COx conjugated QD.
