EPCR deficiency aggravates the DSS-induced macrophage infiltration and cytokine secretion in the colon. The colon tissues were collected from the control and DSS-treated mice and processed for tissue sectioning and preparing tissue extracts. (A) The colon tissue sections were stained with F4/80 antibody to identify macrophages by immunofluorescence microscopy. Green fluorescence spots indicate macrophages. Colon tissue extracts were used to measure myeloperoxidase activity (B), IL-6 (C), MCP1 (D), or IL-1ß (E). Data are the mean ± SEM of 2 independent experiments of 8 mice/group. *P < 0.05; ***P < 0.001.
