Typical examples of diformazan production produced by the addition of 1 M NaOH to solutions of NBT + β-NADPH + S-nitrosopenicillamine (L-SNPE) (top left panel), NBT + β-NADPH + S-nitrosohomocysteine (DL-SNHC) (top right panel), NBT + β-NADP + S-nitrosopenicillamine (L-SNPE) (bottom left panel) and NBT + β-NADP + S-nitrosohomocysteine (bottom right panel). The final concentrations of these agents are given in Table 1. Note that the initial spikes in absorbance are due to the opening of the cuvette chamber.
