EBV infected cells in the spleen express different viral latent proteins. (A–C) EBNA1 and (D–F) LMP1 in the spleen from rabbits infected and immunosuppressed at different time points (EBV > CsA), (EBV + CsA) or (CsA > EBV). (G) Double immunofluorescence for EBERs (blue) and LMP1 (green) indicated that a large proportion of EBER+ cells also expressed LMP1. (H) Similarly, most of the EBNA2+ cells (blue) were also LMP1+ (brown). (I) By contrast, BZLF1+ cells (blue) did not co-express LMP1 (brown).
