Cytotoxicity of Au nanoparticles (NPs) supported on TiO₂, ZrO₂ and CeO₂ NPs and TiO₂, ZrO₂ and CeO₂ NPs alone on mouse peritoneal macrophages. Cell viability was measured using the WST-1 assay after 24 h incubation. Data are expressed as percentage of control condition (without NPs, 100% is the reference value) and are represented as mean ± SEM of 6 independent experiments. Positive control is doxorubicine (DOXO, 1, 5 and 10 µg ml⁻¹) * significantly different from control (p < 0.05).
