Representative SEM micrographs of the S. mutans biofilm (24 h, X500 and X3000 magnification) are shown after the following treatments: CON (A, B); CHX (C, D); and ARG (E, F). Note that the biofilm in ARG more compact appearance (E, F) when compare with the CON (A, B), some ruptures (F) occurred on the biofilm in ARG due to effects of drying (pointer).
