Methodology description to separate worn areas from non-worn areas. Manual tresholding is applied on the grey level distribution of the photo simulation image in order to control the selection of the worn and unworn surface and create corresponding masks. Then, masks are applied on the height map to produce two datasets: one containing data of the worn part of the surface and another one with the data of the unworn part. Missing data (NM) are displayed in yellow in the final surfaces.
