Susceptibility of recombinant G6PD variants to trypsin digestion. Residual enzymatic activity was measured after incubation with 0.5 mg/ml trypsin at 25 °C for 5 min in the presence of various concentrations of NADP+ (0, 10 and 100 μM) or AG1 (0, 10 and 100 μM). Residual enzyme activity was expressed as a percentage of the activity for the same enzyme in the absence of trypsin. Statistical analysis was performed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). Asterisks indicate statistical difference (*P ≤ 0.05, **P ≤ 0.01 and ***P ≤ 0.001) between groups. Error bars represent the mean ± SD of triplicate measurements.
