(b) Polarized light microscopy (PLM) image accompanied by a sketch of the collagen patterns formed when using a 5 mg/ml collagen solution. Three different regions formed, i.e. an isotropic region in the center, a region with concentric collagen rings patterns in the middle and a radial v-shaped pattern at the periphery.
