Categorised distribution of WMH volume in the KORA sample and SHIP sample. Mean WMH volume was 2798 ± 7392 mm3 (median: 997 mm3) in KORA and 532.4 ± 1750.0 mm3 (median 135.5 mm3) in SHIP. Possible explanations for this discrepancy in WMH volume are different measurement methods and different study collectives. Note that for elastic net regression, data was modelled continuously and not categorised.
