Comparison of LPS activity in aqueous solution, serum, heparin plasma and citrate plasma. 5 ng/mL LPS (E. coli) was spiked into ringer solution, human serum, heparin plasma and citrate plasma. The recovery of the added LPS into the different medium was determined by the LAL test. Mean ± standard deviation of three independent experiments with plasma/serum from different donors are shown.
