From: Isolation and characterization of novel primary cells from the human distal outflow pathway
Establishing primary cultures of VDOP cells. Image showing the region of the conventional outflow pathway that was dissected and removed (lightly shaded portions), and the portion isolated (dotted area) for extracting VDOP cells. The extracted tissue rims were cut into 1–2 mm pieces, incubated in collagenase for 90 min and immersed in low glucose DMEM containing 10% FBS and 1% antibiotic/antimycotic on a gelatin-coated plate.
