The ground state energy level for an electron and a hole confined in a GaAs-Al\(_{0.28}\)Ga\(_{0.72}\)As quantum dot-quantum ring under applied electric field. The solid lines are the calculations for the structure depicted in Figs. 1a,b whereas the full symbols correspond to the calculations for the ring-dot model shown in Fig. 1c. The dimensions of both structures are reported in Fig. 1.
