Induction and observation of AK in the experimental mouse model. To induce keratitis, 1 × 106 A. castellanii cells (trophozoites and cysts mixed in equal numbers) were cultivated on the lenses and inoculated into the mouse eyes. The AK signs were observed from day 1 to day 3. Normal, untreated healthy mouse; Sham, sham-infection groups; Exp, experiment groups.
