Karyotyping of the 2XSB sporadic MPNST cell line demonstrates the presence of two distinct populations with 89 (a) or 101 (b) chromosomes and numerous complex rearrangements of the tumor cell genome. Complex karyotyping can be characteristic of genetically unstable, highly aneuploid tumor types.
