Assortative mating by telomere length (A) and age (B) in the blue-footed booby. In (A) each pair is represented by a point and the plotted trendline controls for other variables in the model (age and assay). In (B) the area of circle is proportional to the number of pairs with these ages. The assortment by telomere length is stronger than for age, despite many young pairs mated together.
