Overlap between the congruency effect in the matching task and the softness-related activation in the tactile task. (A) Overlap of activation at the group-level between the congruency effect in the matching task (Fig. 2) and the softness-related activation revealed by the parametric-modulation analysis of the tactile task. The activation was presented on coronal and horizontal sections of the MRI averaged over the subjects. The statistical threshold for the spatial extent test was set at p < 0.05; family-wise error (FWE) corrected for multiple comparisons over the whole brain when the height (cluster-forming) threshold was set at p < 0.001 (uncorrected). (B) Representative individual results of overlapped activation. The height threshold was set at p < 0.001 (uncorrected) without a cluster threshold.
