Overall liking means and standard errors (bars) for all 18 applicators measured using a classical 9-point hedonic scale, where 1 = Dislike extremely and 9 = Like extremely, and 5 is a neutral point (‘neither like nor dislike’), ordered with higher liked applicators to the left of the plot. Mean ratings with an upper case letter in common are not significantly different in liking at α = 0.05 (Fisher’s LSD). Most of the products to the left are plastic tampon applicators while those to the right are plastic medication applicators; a cardboard tampon applicator also falls on the right.
