In both the MPP and non-MPP groups, the MPS on the masseter muscle was significantly higher before lidocaine application than after lidocaine application (#P < 0.05, Tukey post hoc test). PPT was significantly lower in the MPP group than in the non-MPP group (*P < 0.05, Tukey post hoc test).
