The open-plan operating room architecture was used until 2016 and allowed simultaneous (up to four) surgeries within one large room separated by mobile dividers. (B) Closed-plan. The closed-plan operating room architecture has been used since 2017 and has allowed one surgery within one stand-alone room separated by actual walls.
