A model illustrating a molecular mechanism that rs10420324 in CACNG8 regulates the susceptibility to ASPD. The SNP site rs10420324 (T/G) in the 1st intron of CACNG8 determined TARP γ-8 expression by regulating the conformation (parallel/hybrid) and stability of a local G-quadruplex. The rs10420324G suppresses TARP γ-8 expression, thus increases ASPD risk.
