Comparison between measured viscosity values with Brillouin-derived (circles) and Raman-derived (empty diamonds) values. For the Brillouin-derived viscosity, both anhydrous (empty circles) and hydrous (coloured circles) data are reported. Hydrous data are grouped according to their water content (< 1 and > 1 wt%). The largest deviation between the measured and calculated values is observed for samples characterized by both the highest water content and lowest measured viscosity (see text for details). Only anhydrous viscosity is available for the Raman-derived data.
