Anethole inhibits the migration of oral cancer cells. (A) Mouth epidermoid carcinoma cells (Ca9-22) were cultured up to 100% confluence. Scratches were then made on each monolayer and cells were incubated with or without anethole. Cell migration/wound repair were observed over time (0, 6, 12 and 24 h) and pictures were taken. Wound closure was measure by the distance, at 3 separate sites, between opposite edges of it. Results are reported as the means (%) ± SD (n = 3).
