Increased expression of Krüppel-like factor 4 (KLF4) and cluster of differentiation 68 (CD68) in the nicotine injection with balloon overdilation groups. (A) Western blot analysis was performed to identify the changes in KLF4 and CD68 expression. (B) In the control groups, CD68 was not expressed in the coronary arteries. Balloon overdilation or nicotine injection increased CD68 expression. The nicotine injection with balloon overdilation groups had significantly increased CD68 expression compared to the other groups. (C) KLF4 expression was similar in the control and balloon overdilation groups and nicotine injection increased KLF4 expression.
