Vital signs of experimental animals under treatment with LPS (450 ng/kg) and/or peptide VSAK (60 µg/kg) registered throughout the PET study. (A) Temperature recordings were obtained every 5 min during the 90-min duration of the experiment. At 60 min significant differences started to be seen: LPS / VSAK + LPS groups (*p = 0.03). Between 70–90 min: LPS / VSAK groups (**p = 0.007); LPS / VSAK + LPS groups (**p = 0.003). Control, VSAK; LPS and LPS + VSAK groups, n = 3. (B) Respiratory frequency (n = 3). Differences assessed using two-way ANOVA with Tukey’s multiple comparison tests.
