K-80003 prevented cartilage degeneration in OA rats. SD rats were injected intra-articularly (i.a.) with saline or MIA (1 mg, 20 μL) through the infrapatellar ligament of the hind knees, and were i.a. injected with vehicle or K-80003 (1 or 2 mg/kg, 20 μL) at days 7, 10, 14, 17, 21, 24 after MIA treatment. All animals were sacrificed 28 days after MIA injection, and knee joints were dissected for histopathological studies. (A) Representative radiographs of the knee joints of animals.
