Panel A depicts the C5a-peptidase region, harboring a highly similar scpA and lmb gene cassette in human associated SDSE and S. agalactiae. Pilus regions (Panel B) are absent in bovine SDSD, and bovine S. agalactiae are also associated with a lack of the pilus 1 operon. Percentages indicate sequence similarity derived from Geneious alignment. The GenBank protein identity for the first gene in each sequence is indicated.
