From: Dectin-2 mediates phagocytosis of Lactobacillus paracasei KW3110 and IL-10 production by macrophages
A signaling diagram of IL-10 production by KW3110 in RAW264.7 cells. KW3110 had higher binding affinities to lectins, which recognize the carbohydrate chains comprised of α-mannose, than other LAB. KW3110 is easily incorporated into RAW 264.7 cells. Dectin-2 expression in RAW 264.7 cells has a key role in phagocytosis of KW3110. After phagocytosis, the engulfed KW3110 might reach the cytosol via PHT2 and activate the IL-10 signaling pathway, including NOD2.
