Figure 1

Effects in the peripheral blood of SHED-CM in a murine NASH model. (A) C57BL/6 J mice were fed Western diets and a high sugar solution. CCl4 was injected intra-peritoneally once per week during the course of 12 weeks. From week 10 to 12, SHED-CM or serum-free DMEM was intravenously administered once a week. Blood, gene expression, histological, intestinal permeability, and gut microbiota analyses were carried out at the indicated time points. (B) Quantification of concentrations of AST, ALT, GLU, TG, FFA, and TC in the peripheral blood. Data represent mean ± SEM. *P < .05; **P < .01; ***P < .001. n = 6, DMEM group; n = 8 SHED-CM group. Abbreviations: CCl4, carbon tetrachloride; SHED-CM, serum-free conditioned medium from stem cells derived from human exfoliated deciduous teeth; DMEM, Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium; AST, alanine aminotransferase; ALT, aspartate aminotransferase; GLU, glucose; FFA, free fatty acid; TG, triglyceride; TC, total cholesterol.
