At baseline examination (A), during the acute phase of the disease retinal vessels, particularly veins, appear larger in diameter compared to those seen in the fundus photograph collected 6 months later (B). The difference is highlighted by the semi-automatic analysis of the vessels diameter in the circumpapillary area (C,D). In particular, the measurement box shows details of one of the four major veins (black arrow) whose diameter reduces from 185.9 µm at baseline to 169.6 µm 6 months later.
