The dashed vertical line represents the personal space boundary, i.e. 100% of the average SDP value for each subject. The models include a: (a) bubble model, (b) linear gradient model, (c) linear gradient with a threshold, (d) power law, and (e) social equilibrium model. The panels also show the hypothesized changes in discomfort for each model, as variations in red shading (most discomfort = most saturated red).
