For better visualization, the brightness of images was increased by 40% and the contrast reduced by 40%; please note that the automated analysis of images was carried out using non-modified raw data. The images were collected within the same independent experiment. Scale bar (top left): 50 µm. Red arrowheads point to nuclei with strong γH2AX staining; empty arrowheads with red borders point to nuclei with medium levels of γH2AX staining.
