From: Bioindicators of severe ocean acidification are absent from the end-Permian mass extinction

Stratigraphic succession of the Permian–Triassic transition at Lusitaniadalen, Svalbard. Inset shows the location of the studied section (marked by the star). The samples that yielded fossils are shown with the main fossil groups and their shell mineralogy. The two hypothesised ocean acidification intervals being tested in this study are shown to the left of the stratigraphic log.
