AμT-OCE measurement system: (a) schematic of a Fourier-domain OCT system utilizing polarization-maintaining fibers; (b) schematic of in vivo AμT-OCE measurement of mechanical wave propagation over the surface of skin for healthy volunteers. Rayleigh waves were excited with a cylindrically focused air-coupled transducer18,19,20. In-plane rotation of the measurement arm was used to track wave propagation in different directions over the skin surface.
