Raman spectra of collected particulates measured in situ (blue) and ex situ (red) using a high HeNe power. Also shown is the spectrum measured from an α-U3O8 standard (black). Spectral similarities at ~ 125, 240, and 295–520 cm−1 suggest that a higher power HeNe beam can convert am-UOx particulates to α-U3O8. Spectra are offset for clarity.
