Ex-situ Raman spectra of particulates formed in 1% O2/Ar analyzed with a low power (top, A) and high power (bottom, B) HeNe beam. Also shown are spectra for α-U3O8 and UO2 standards. A low power HeNe beam indicates UO2 is formed during the ablation process; however, with sufficient heat, particulates can be converted to α-U3O8. Spectra are offset for clarity.
