Determination of monolayer permeability using Transwell assays. Doxycycline decreased IL-1β-induced microvascular endothelial cell monolayer hyperpermeability. IL-1β induced hyperpermeability significantly, compared to untreated control group in this model (*p < 0.05; n = 5). Pretreatment with Doxycycline mitigated this effect compared to IL-1β group (**p < 0.05; n = 5).
